In August 2025, in the vibrant city of Porto, Portugal, the Breaking The Walls project took another important step forward during The World Battle, one of the most celebrated global hip-hop breaking events, held from August 27 to 31. The atmosphere of international creativity and cultural exchange provided the perfect setting for a new series of public workshops dedicated to the project’s core themes.

These open workshops, accessible to dancers and enthusiasts from around the world, focused on hip-hop and breaking under the guidance of expert dancer Willstr8. For the young participants from Porto selected for the project, this was an invaluable opportunity: they were able to train alongside dancers of different nationalities, exchange perspectives, and put into practice the concepts explored throughout the earlier stages of the program. The interaction with an international community enriched their experience, challenging them artistically and helping them grow both technically and personally.
Alongside the dance component, the project also featured a Mental Training workshop led by Dr. Isabelle Tay. After working with the group in previous project stages, she continued to deepen essential topics linked to emotional awareness, mental preparation, resilience, and the psychological aspects of performance. The young dancers engaged openly with the material, building on their previous training and exploring new dimensions of mental well-being within a supportive group environment.
The Porto chapter of Breaking The Walls highlighted once again the strength of combining artistic practice with psychological development. Bringing together participants from various cultures, backgrounds, and experiences, the event demonstrated how dance—and the mental training that supports it—can build bridges, open dialogues, and foster a global sense of community.
