On Wednesday 19 March, BE-STREET Alba turns into a freestyle classroom where language, rhythm and sport history collide. From 18:15 to 19:30 we’ll run a RAP TOUR–style lab that uses lyrics and meter to unlock new knowledge—this time the story behind the Olympic sport of skateboarding. Working over a classic 4/4 beat, participants will break down and perform an original rap whose verses weave the key milestones, personalities and values that carried skateboarding from California sidewalks to the Paris 2024 stage.
The session is more than a music lesson: it’s an experiment in how words shape identity. By feeling how each rhyme lands and how every technical term slips into the flow, dancers discover the parallels between skate culture and breaking—both street-born, both driven by creativity, balance and community rule-making. As the lyrics click, so does the idea that the vocabulary we choose inevitably reflects (and refines) the way we carry ourselves day-to-day and in private moments.
Open to the general public as well as the Breaking the Walls crew, the lab welcomes absolute rap beginners and seasoned MCs alike. No previous experience is required; just bring curiosity, a notebook and the willingness to test your timing.
